In the area of Northern Italy surrounding Lake Garda, is a rich soil wonderful for white wines known as Lugana. Tucked into these winding roads is Zamichele, a family-run winery searching for the most sustainable farming methods in which to cultivate their vines. In fact, on every label is a representation of a vineyard creature they find regularly in the grass amongst their vines.
Made from 100% Turbiana grapes (similar to verdicchio), their two white wines are bright and refreshing, ready to enjoy. The Lugana is unoaked and with inviting colors and aromas, and the Lugana Gardè, similar to a Lugana Superiore in its aging, is more complex like a California chardonnay.

Zamichele | Lugana White Wine
Made from 100% Turbiana (considered similar to Verdicchio), this unoaked white wine from the sought after Lugana wine region has a bright yellow color, a natural balance of acidity and fruit with a textured mouthfeel and a long finish. It has inviting aromas of honeysuckle, tropical fruits, caramel and a hint of basil. Think of it as an alternative to an unoaked Chardonnay, since turbiana is also a noble white grape. Plus Zamichele’s terrroir with the influence from nearby Lake Garda and mineral rich glacial alluvial soil provides the conditions for creating a complex and balanced white wine.

Zamichele | Lugana Garde White Wine
Bright straw yellow color with aromas of vanilla and pineapple, this ageworthy oaked white wine, similar to a Lugana Riserva, is made from Turbiana grapes, which is considered similar to Verdicchio. Upon tasting, acidity and fruit harmonically combine with a salty minerality producing a sweet and salty taste sensation. Fruit bursts forth and taste envelopes the mouth and thankfully the finish lingers. This is a wine for California Chardonnay lovers looking for a change to surprise and delight them.
